The Latest & Greatest

Update: August 20th, 2021

We are continuing to watch numbers and CDC recommendations closely and do everything to keep our students safe and healthy.

Your instructors have all chosen to be vaccinated and we will be requiring all leadership participants to be vaccinated to assist in-person in classes.

Please note that we'll choose to begin each phase based off of the CDC's latest recommendations and the number of COVID cases. Should anything change, including a spike in COVID cases or unexpected changes to the regulations we're operating under, we'll be sure to notify all of you via email and Facebook.

As of August 20th, we are in PHASE TWO

Phase 2

  • Up to 14 students will be welcome to register for each of our in-person classes

  • Instructors will resume using all training equipment, including blockers, focus pads, and kick shields. All of your instructors are fully vaccinated, and all equipment is sanitized between each class. For reference to how this equipment will be used, we've attached some photos below.

  • You may notice some new faces on the floor. Beginning with this phase, we'll slowly be re-introducing our Level 2 and Level 3 instructors. These instructors are also fully vaccinated and must undergo special training before stepping back on to the floor. (If you're a Level 2 or Level 3 instructor, you must contact us by email for further details about how to get involved with teaching.)

  • We will only be holding Zoom Group Classes Monday through Friday. Due to low attendance, Saturday classes will be In-Person only.

We hope the state keeps moving in a positive direction so we can soon safely move to phases 3 and 4!

Phase 3

  • Classes resume partnering (students will have alternative options if they do not feel safe working closely with a partner)

Phase 4

  • Classes return to 45-minute length

  • Full class capacity

  • Sparring resumes when masks are no longer required

We will move through the phases based on CDC guidelines, state regulations, state infection rates, and student comfort. We will keep you informed by email and Facebook every step of the way.

If you have any questions, feel free to email us at theteam@villarismansfield.com or give us a call at 860-456-8020. Have an awesome day, and we'll see you in class!

Thank you so much for sticking with us during this very uncertain and challenging time. Your commitment has allowed the dojo to continue to support your instructors and their families, and also to serve our community.

As the state begins to reopen, we will be incrementally adding in-person classes back into the schedule over the next few weeks. Our highest commitment is to the safety, well-being, and convenience of our students and their families.

We will be continuing to provide a hybrid of virtual and on-site training for the foreseeable future. The convenience of virtual training, especially the 15 minute one-on-one lessons, have proven their worth. We hope to use this launch into digital training to provide more flexibility and quality than we've ever had before. Family vacations, demanding work schedules, and busy family schedules can make it hard to get to the dojo for class. Now, making up classes and continuing to progress will be so much easier!

The Fine Print

*Due to the limited nature of our programming at this time, you must sign up in advance for any in-person classes and private lessons. You must cancel any scheduled class at least 24 Hours before the class time. All no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the class time forfeit their class credit(s). All missed classes expire after one year. Please plan your classes accordingly.

We appreciate your understanding with these new policies. Social distancing means class sizes have been significantly limited. We anticipate a full schedule and any no-shows are taking a training opportunity from another student. Our goal is to accommodate everyone as best we can and provide the same positive, high-quality experience we always have.

FOR YOUR SAFETY

We have carefully studied the CDC and state guidelines for reopening during the Covid pandemic and have implemented the following protocols to ensure everyone's safety.

Please note: We will be asking you to sign a waiver to participate in in-person training. SKK Village, Inc cannot guarantee you or your child's safety or immunity from infection. We ask that everyone coming to the dojo acknowledge and appreciate these facts and the uncertainty of the virus and how it may impact their health. You must assume all risks associated directly or indirectly with participating in any activity at the dojo, including classes, traveling to and from the dojo, entering and exiting the dojo premises, using equipment at the dojo, interacting with other persons at or around the dojo, and/or using facilities within the dojo premises, including restrooms.

Overview of Our Safety Plan

  • Students will be sent COVID-19 Release of Liability Waiver and instructions detailing all safety procedures.

  • Students are not allowed to enter the facility until the previous class has exited.

  • Non-invasive temperature checks will be administered to all individuals entering the facility.

  • In the lobby space, each student will take off their shoes and place them on the shelf on the inside of the dojo or leave them with a parent. Although students will train barefoot, it’s still expected that the shoes they wear are relatively clean.

  • The training area is marked by socially distance dots to ensure safe spacing.

  • Once class has finished, students and family members will exit through the doorway in the Dojo training area to avoid contact with the next class.

  • Up to one parent or guardian is allowed in the lobby area at a time, also practicing the social distancing guidelines of sitting at least six feet apart

  • MASKS MUST BE WORN IN THE LOBBY AND IN GROUP CLASSES. Your instructors will be wearing masks at all times. Parents in the lobby should wear masks at all times. In group class settings, masks will be required and we will be avoiding heavy fitness for safety and health reasons.

  • Students and their families are responsible for disinfecting the restroom after each use. It is important that all surfaces touched are wiped down with the provided cleaning materials. If the restroom is in use, please wait in your training area until the restroom is available. Wash your hands for 20 seconds.

  • The training space will be using a Medify Air MA-112 V2.0 Super CADR 950 H13 True HEPA Air Purifier, which will fully purify the training area’s air every twenty minutes.

  • The water fountains are used to REFILL WATER BOTTLES ONLY

If you have any concerns, please contact us so we can create an optimal training plan for you and your family.

And of course....

If you are sick, STAY HOME and train virtually.

If someone in your household is sick, STAY HOME and train virtually.

If you or someone in your household is in a risk group, STAY HOME and train virtually.

We miss you all so much and can't wait to see you, but we can wait a little longer if it means everyone stays healthy and well!!!!
